In this introductory workshop, interested faculty learned about digital projects at Barnard and discussed the possibilities and complications that come with digital pedagogy.
The goals: Demonstrate past digital projects at Barnard, deconstruct digital learning goals and assignments, draft an assignment based on your curriculum or course, and discuss and share your questions in a collegial and friendly space

This hackathon expanded upon our first workshop, paying close attention to the process involved in integrating digital projects into one's syllabus.
The goals: Enhance existing courses with digital pedagogy, consider the ethical parameters of the digital humanities, connect digital research methodologies to your course, and create “Thinking Digitally” assignments and assessments

The Digital Humanities Center, Center for Engaged Pedagogy, and IMATS hosted a three-day, virtual intensive for faculty to design assignments that critically engage with digital technologies.
Faculty participants were awarded stipends and worked individually with staff from the Digital Humanities Center, IMATS, the Center for Engaged Pedagogy, and the Barnard Library in digital pedagogy.

The Digital Humanities Center, Center for Engaged Pedagogy, and IMATS hosted the second annual Thinking Digitally Institute—a three-day, virtual intensive for faculty to design assignments that critically engage with digital technologies.
Nine faculty and one staff participant from seven departments were awarded stipends from the Provost’s office and worked individually with staff from the DHC, CEP, ERC, Media Center, IMATS, and the Barnard Library. In the most popular session of the institute, participants in the 2020 TDSI came back to speak with this year’s cohort about ways they have incorporated digital pedagogy into their classes, including both successes and challenges.
