Library dean Jen Green is departing Barnard for the University of Chicago, where she will serve as Associate University Librarian for Research & Learning. Jen joined took leadership of the Barnard Library and Academic Information Services (BLAIS) department when it was temporarily housed in the LeFrak Center and Sulzberger Annex while the Milstein Center was still under construction. Per Provost Linda Bell's email announcement, Jen "helped lead our efforts to establish the Academic Center programs for the Milstein Center, working closely with faculty and staff to create efficient spaces and new services. As part of this work, Jennifer developed a staffing structure for the Centers that fosters deep partnerships between Academic Center Directors and BLAIS, and provides a sustainable model for growth."
A search for Jen's successor will begin in the spring. BLAIS Directors Melanie Hibbert, Kristen Hogan, and Miriam Neptune will serve as the interim Dean Team until a hire is made. Read more in the Columbia Spectator.
