The Caribbean Digital VII

Out of synch: October – December 2020
In synch: 4 December 2020, 1-2 PM EST

This year, the annual Caribbean Digital event will be held virtually, with three asynchronous digital community projects and a synchronous gathering. The three projects — a Directory of Caribbean Digital Scholarship, a Collective Annotation of Aimé Césaire’s Notebook of a Return to My Native Land, and a Keyword Collection for Caribbean Studies — are designed to embrace the digital as critical praxis, negotiating the challenges and opportunities presented by the media technologies that ever more intensely reconfigure the social, historical, and geopolitical contours of the Caribbean and its diasporas. As with every iteration of “The Caribbean Digital,” participants will consider the affordances and limitations of the digital with respect to a wide range of disciplines and methodologies.

All three ventures will be launched synchronously at the Caribbean Digital event on 4 December 2020.
